Why go to camp?
We all know that the best part of a ride is retelling the stories afterwards with your friends and reminiscing about the past (and potentially stretching the truth…just a little…). What better way to enjoy that part of cycling than to join TeamODZ’s annual cycling camp! Camp provides lodging, food, route planning, ride support, bad dad jokes, airport shuttle logistics, and good company. All you need to do is bring yourself, your cycling gear, and you are set for the week!
When is camp?
This upcoming camp will be held from February 26th-March 5th, 2023. This means we’ll be arriving, settling in, and getting bikes ready to go on Sunday February 26th. We then starting riding as a group on the morning of Monday, February 27th. Our final big ride for the week will be on Saturday, March 4th. Saturday night, March 5th is the last night in camp housing.
Where is camp?
Fountain Hills is conveniently located in the north-east outskirts of Phoenix, AZ. A quick shuttle from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and you will have arrived at a calm, low traffic area with immediate access to many great cycling routes. Some of the favorite routes and destinations over the years of camp include: Bartlett Lake, McDowell Mountain, Mount Lemmon, Saguaro Lake, Usery Pass, Tortilla Flats, and many more!
What COVID-19 precautions are being taken?
Camp attendees will be required to be tested for COVID-19 and get their results back within 1 week of camp starting. Get your clean bill of health and come join in the fun! If you unfortunately test positive for COVID-19 at that time, then you won’t be able to attend camp. Upon providing proof of the positive test, you can apply your $250 deposit to reserve your spot at camp in 2023, or get a refund.
What is provided?
Camp will provide your daily meals and supplement some of your on-the-bike nutrition. Our amazing chefs have dealt with many different special dietary needs and can adapt the meals to fit the various dietary restrictions of attendees. We also try to provide a good sampling of the various foods and supplements that our partners and sponsors provide, giving you the opportunity to sample items that you haven’t tried before.
